TM 9-2320-364-10 2-266      2-29.  LOAD HANDLING SYSTEM (LHS) (CONT). Engine speed must be at idle before using hydraulic selector switch, or damage to equipment may result. To avoid equipment damage, ensure that main frame cylinders do not complete full extension while operating at engine speeds above idle. Manual mode is used mainly in event of a failure of control electrical system.  Greater care must be exercised during operation of MANUAL mode for correct cycle of events to occur or damage to equipment may result. If LHS had previously been used in Manual Mode and not completely stowed in Auto Mode, the hook arm cylinders must be completely extended or the LHS must be completely stowed using Auto Mode before the flatrack can be loaded. Failure to comply may result in damage to the truck and flatrack. (6) Turn hydraulic selector switch (2) to MAN M.F. (7) Move joystick (1) to UNLOAD and hold until lift-hook (10) has moved below level of flatrack hook-bar (8). (8) Apply service brake pedal (9) and set transmission range selector (7) to Reverse (R) and back truck up to flatrack, aligning truck and flatrack as straight as possible with lift-hook (10) to the middle of hook-bar (8).
