TM 9-2320-364-20-2 2-878      7.  CODE 23:  SHIFT SELECTOR (CONT). “CHECK TRANS” light ON. Restricted gear shifts. Torque converter lockup clutch   unlocked. Transmission does not shift   properly or stays in N   (Neutral). Wire 210A is OK. Wires 230/234 OK. EBC/ATEC wire harness OK. Short/open in control box wire   harness. Shift selector faulty. Transmission ECU faulty. KNOWN INFO POSSIBLE PROBLEMS TEST OPTIONS REASON FOR QUESTION Continuity test. STE/ICE-R #91. If shift controller wiring through electrical control box wire harness is faulty, electrical power and ground circuits cannot be completed to ECB/ATEC wire harness at ECU.  ATEC will register a code 23 fault. YES NO Repair wire(s) (see schematic Fig 2-21) or notify DS Maintenance.   Verify repair, go to Step 7 of this Fault. 5. Is there continuity on all wires between connector MC50 and relays R8, R9, R10 and R11? Replace shift selector (Para 8-2).  Verify repair, go to Step 7 of this Fault.
