TM 9-2320-364-20-2 2-974      3.  EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION. INITIAL SETUP 1. Is engine oil level at correct level? Drain engine oil to correct level (Para 3-2). Verify repair, go to Step 7 of this Fault. START YES NO Nothing. Oil level too high. Engine oil filter or oil hoses   faulty. Rocker covers or gaskets faulty. Oil sending units faulty. Engine overheating. Air compressor faulty. KNOWN INFO POSSIBLE PROBLEMS TEST OPTIONS REASON FOR QUESTION Visual inspection. Oil will be burned by engine if oil level is too high. 2-16.  ENGINE TROUBLESHOOTING (CONT).
