TM 9-2320-364-20-2 2-1682 2.  TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR, SLIPS INTO AND OUT OF GEAR, OR DOES NOT RESPOND TO SHIFT SELECTOR KEY PAD. INITIAL SETUP 1. Add oil (Para 8-3).  If oil was added, go to Step 2 of this Fault. START YES NO Nothing. KNOWN INFO POSSIBLE PROBLEMS TEST OPTIONS REASON FOR QUESTION Transmission oil level check. Low oil level may cause transmission to not shift into gear, slip out of gear, or not respond to shift selector key pad. 2-21.  TRANSMISSION TROUBLESHOOTING (CONT). Tools and Special Tools Tool Kit, General Mechanic’s:  Automotive (Item 74, Appendix G) Pan, Drain (Item 47, Appendix G) Materials/Parts Lockwasher (8) (Item 195, Appendix F) Equipment Condition Engine OFF, (TM 9-2320-364-10) Parking brake applied, (TM 9-2320-364-10) Wheels chocked, (TM 9-2320-364-10) Right side noise panel removed, (Para 17-26) References TM 9-2320-364-10 CAUTION Go to Step 4 of this Fault. Transmission oil level low. Oil hoses and/or fittings loose,   leaking or damaged. Transmission oil filter damaged   or leaking. Is transmission oil level at proper level?
