TM 9-2320-364-20-2      2-1721 Remove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags, bracelets, etc.  If jewelry or tools contact positive electrical circuits, a direct short may result.  Damage to equipment, injury or death to personnel may occur. Adhesives, solvents, and sealing compounds can burn easily, can give off harmful vapors, and are harmful to skin and clothing.  To avoid injury or death, keep away from open fire and use in a well ventilated area.  If adhesive, solvent, or sealing compound gets on skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and water. (1)   Set multimeter select switch to ohms. (2)   Is there continuity between transfer case lockup solenoid connector M49, terminal 2 and a known good ground? (a)   If there is no continuity, repair wire 1435 (see schematic Fig 2-42) or notify DS Maintenance. (b)   If there is continuity, wire 1435 is OK. CONTINUITY TEST (1)   Turn transfer case solenoid valve manual override screw counter– clockwise and listen for air passing through valve. (a)   If air passes through valve, valve is OK. Perform Steps (2) through (4) below and go to Step 4 of this Fault. (b)   If air does not pass through valve, perform Step (2) below and replace valve (Para 12-40). (2)   Turn solenoid valve manual override screw clockwise all the way. (3)   Install connector M49. (4)   Tighten screw and coat head of screw with adhesive. TRANSFER CASE SOLENOID VALVE TEST
