Wear safety goggles when performing leakage tests on valves. Failure to do so may result in serious
eye injury due to high pressure air.
Exercise extreme caution when working around wheels or under truck while engine is operating.
Movement of truck may cause injury or death to personnel.
(1) Start engine (TM 9-2320-364-10).
(2) Set CTIS controller selector to
HIGHWAY.
(3) Press CTIS START button.
(4) Check CTIS rear manifold pressure
relief valve for damage and leaks.
(a) If pressure relief valve is damaged
or leaking, turn OFF ENGINE
switch and replace valve
(Para 13-10).
(b) If pressure relief valve is not
damaged or leaking, relief valve
is OK.
(5) Turn OFF ENGINE switch.
(6) Install rear CTIS manifold cover
(Para 13-9).
(7) Put LHS in transit position.
VISUAL/AUDIBLE INSPECTION
Tires must be deflated to 60 psi
(414 kPa) or less to perform this test.
Some air leakage (bubbles forming) may
occur during inflation/deflation cycle at
relief valve. A rapid exhaust of air
indicates a problem.
Pressure relief valve should remain
closed up to 85 psi (586 kPa).
