Mode switch faulty. CHU wire harness faulty. CHU control box faulty. Wire 1495 faulty. KNOWN INFO POSSIBLE PROBLEMS TEST OPTIONS REASON FOR QUESTION 2-38. CHU TROUBLESHOOTING (CONT) Tools and Special Tools Tool Kit, General Mechanic’s:  Automotive (Item 74, Appendix G) Multimeter (Item 44, Appendix G) Equipment Condition Engine OFF, (TM 9-2320-364-10) Parking brake applied, (TM 9-2320-364-10) Wheels chocked, (TM 9-2320-364-10) Is mode switch properly adjusted? Adjust mode switch (Para 21-25).  Verify repair, go to Step 6 of this Fault. Visual inspection. Mode switch activates transit lock interlock circuit and switches LHS system to use hook arm up proximity switch for the CHU. Faults in this cir- cuit will cause interlock function not to operate and hook arm cylinders to extend too far.
