TM 9-2320-364-20-4 4-70      Material/Parts Oil, Fuel, Diesel Regular (Item 62, Appendix C) This task covers: a.  Removal b.   Installation c.  Follow-On Maintenance INITIAL SETUP Equipment Condition Engine OFF, (TM 9-2320-364-10) Wheels chocked, (TM 9-2320-364-10) Cab engine access panel removed, (Para 17-24) Tools and Special Tools Tool Kit, General Mechanic’s:  Automotive (Item 74, Appendix G) Remover Tool, Oil Filter (Item 54, Appendix G) 4-13.  SECONDARY FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT. Fuel is very flammable and can explode easily.  To avoid serious injury or death, keep fuel away from open fire and keep fire extinguisher within easy reach when working with fuel.  Do not work on fuel system when engine is hot.  Fuel can be ignited by hot engine. a. Removal. (1) Remove and discard fuel filter (1) and preformed packing (2) from fuel filter head (3). b. Installation. (1) Coat preformed packing (2) on fuel filter (1) with diesel fuel. (2) Fill fuel filter (1) 2/3 full with clean diesel fuel oil.
