TM 9-2320-364-34-3      17-27 (4) While holding end yoke (4) with pipe wrench, remove nut (8), washer (9), end yoke (4) and key (10) from main hydraulic pump shaft (11). Use care when removing retaining rings.  Retaining rings are under tension and can act as projectiles when released and could cause severe eye injury. (5) Remove and discard retaining ring (12) from main hydraulic pump shaft (11). (6) Place drain pan under main hydraulic pump shaft (11). NOTE A small amount of hydraulic oil will continue to flow after removal of seal. (7) Remove and discard seal (13) from main hydraulic pump shaft (11). b. Installation. (1) Apply grease to seal (13) and main hydraulic pump shaft (11). NOTE Spring in seal faces inward. Seal is installed past second groove on hydraulic pump. (2) Using seal installer, install seal (13) on main hydraulic pump shaft (11).
