TM 9-2320-364-34-4      20-255 (28) Place clean cloth between tops of camshaft gears (1) and (3). (29) Install camshaft nut lock plate (32) and accessory drive hub (33) on left camshaft gear (3) with four screws (34).  Tighten screws 35 to 39 lb-ft (47 to 53 N.m). (30) Place clean cloth between bottom of camshaft gears (1) and (3). (31) Install accessory drive hub (35) on right camshaft gear (1) with four screws (36). Tighten screws 35 to 39 lb-ft (47 to 53 N.m). (32) Check end play of camshaft assemblies (1) and (3).  Install dial indicator on engine block.  Push camshaft towards gage and adjust dial indicator to zero.  Force cam shaft in opposite direction and read end play.  If end play is less than 0.003 in. (0.076 mm) or greater than 0.018 in. (0.457 mm), replace camshaft. NOTE Minimum backlash for new gears is 0.002 to 0.008 in. (0.051 to 0.203 mm).  If backlash is greater than 0.010 in. (0.254 mm), replace gears.  Maximum backlash for used gears is 0.010 in. (0.254 mm). (33) Check backlash between camshaft gears (1) and (3). (34) Remove cloth from between bottom of camshaft gears (1) and (3). b. Follow-On  Maintenance: Install crankcase timing gear, (Para 20-74). END OF TASK
