Remove wheel/tire assembly (1) from safety cage and position on
wooden block on flat surface with locknuts (7) facing up.
(5)
Remove 12 locknuts (7) from studs (8). Discard locknuts.
Keep hands clear of studs and outer face
of wheel to prevent injury to personnel.
NOTE
A tire iron can be used to lift the outer
wheel.
(6)
Pry outer wheel (9) and tire (6) apart.
Outer wheel weighs 55 lbs (25 kg). Use
an assistant to prevent injury to personnel.
(7)
With the aid of an assistant, remove outer
wheel (9) from tire (6).
Inner wheel and tire weigh 295 lbs (139
kg). Use suitable lifting device to lift
wheel assembly and prevent possible
injury to personnel.
(8)
Attach lifting device to wheel/tire assembly (1).
(9)
Raise and turn wheel/tire assembly over so tire (6)
rests on wooden block. Lower wheel/tire assembly.
(10) Remove lifting device from wheel/tire assembly (1).
NOTE
A tire iron can be used to lift the inner
wheel.
(11) Pry inner wheel (10) and tire (6) apart.
Inner wheel weighs 62 lbs (28 kg). Use
an assistant to prevent possible injury to
personnel.
(12) With the aid of an assistant, remove inner wheel (10) from tire (6).
