(1) Remove six screws, lockwashers,
washers and heater cover. Discard
lockwashers.
(2) Disconnect harness connector at
resistor.
(3) Is there continuity measured between
FAN control switch and harness ends
of red and brown wires?
(a) If there is no continuity, repair wires
or replace heater wire harness
(Para 19-17).
(b) If there is continuity, heater wire
harness is OK.
(4) Connect harness wires to heater
switch.
CONTINUITY TEST
Remove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags, bracelets, etc. If jewelry or tools contact positive electrical
circuits, a direct short may result. Damage to equipment, injury or death to personnel may occur.
(1) Read resistance between orange wire
terminal and red wire terminal of
heater resistor.
(a) If 4 to 5 ohms are not measured,
replace resistor (Para 19-13).
(b) If 4 to 5 ohms are measured,
go to Step (2) below.
(2) Read resistance between orange wire
terminal and brown wire terminal of
heater resistor.
(a) If 1 to 2 ohms are not measured,
replace resistor (Para 19-13).
(b) If 1 to 2 ohms are measured,
resistor is OK.
(3) Connect harness connector to
resistor.
(4) Install heater cover, six washers,
lockwashers and screws.
(5) Install heater compartment access
cover and eight screws.
