TM 9-2320-364-20-2 2-858      5.  CODE 21:  THROTTLE SENSOR INOPERATIVE (CONT). “CHECK TRANS” light ON. “DO NOT SHIFT” light OFF. “DO NOT SHIFT” light will not   go out at start up. Transmission shifts delayed   or hard. Throttle position sensor   count OK. Wire 908 OK. Wire(s) 104, 106A, and 124 OK. DDEC ECM OK. Throttle position control faulty. Transmission ECU faulty. KNOWN INFO POSSIBLE PROBLEMS TEST OPTIONS REASON FOR QUESTION Voltage test. STE/ICE-R #89. If there is no pulse modulated signal count from throttle position control module M4 terminal B to ECU, ATEC ECU will register a code 21 fault. YES NO Replace throttle position control module (Para. 7-98). Verify repair, go to Step 6 of this Fault. 5. Does voltage at connector MC36, terminal B decrease to 5.0 to 5.8 vdc with throttle fully applied? Replace transmission ECU (Para 7-71). Verify repair, go to Step 6 of this Fault.
