TM 9-2320-364-20-2      2-1633 (1)   Remove four screws, lockwashers, washers and DUVAC cover. (2)   Set multimeter select switch to volts dc. (3)   Connect positive (+) multimeter lead to terminal A on DUVAC controller. (4)   Connect negative (–) multimeter lead to known good ground. (5)   Start engine and turn on headlights and heater (TM 9-2320-364-10). (a)   If voltage reading does not drop momentarily every 55-60 seconds, voltage regulator is faulty.  Turn off heater, headlights and engine and replace voltage regulator (Para 7-6). (b)   If voltage reading does drop momentarily every 55-60 seconds, voltage regulator is OK.  Turn off heater, headlights and engine. Remove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags, bracelets, etc.  If jewelry or tools contact positive electrical circuits, a direct short may result.  Damage to equipment, injury or death to personnel may occur. Terminal 1 and terminal 2 at DUVAC controller are electrically hot all of the time.  Ensure DUVAC cover does not contact either terminal.  Damage to equipment, injury or death to personnel may occur. VOLTAGE TEST NOTE DUVAC controller should reset to the 24 vdc charge mode approximately every 55 seconds.  Take the voltage reading for at least two minutes to allow the regulator timer to cycle. Every 55-60 seconds you will see momentary drop in voltage as regulator resets from 12 to 24 vdc charging mode. Charging voltage could drop as low as 0 vdc.
