12-8. STEERING SYSTEM ALIGNMENT AND ADJUSTMENT (CONT).

Axle Steering Stops Adjustment.
Stand clear of tires while turning
them. Failure to do so may result
in injury or death to personnel.
(1)
With the aid of an assistant, start truck and
turn the steering wheel to the right until the
rear side of the right front tire is 2 1/2 in.
(63.5 mm) away from the suspension beam.
NOTE
Axle steering stop arrangement for Axles No. 1 and 2 are the same.
(2)
If 2 1/2 in. (63.5 mm) cannot be attained, loosen nut (1) and turn steering stop bolt (2) until it bottoms
out.
(3)
Repeat Steps (1) and (2) for Axle No. 2.
