TM 9-2320-364-34-2 3-54      3-5.  ENGINE/TRANSMISSION SEPARATION (CONT). (8) Remove two screws (48), access cover (49) and gasket (50) from converter housing (51).  Discard gasket. (9) Turn torque converter pump (52) and repeat Steps (4) through (7). NOTE If 12 screws were aligned in Steps (5) through (9), go to Step (13).  If not, go to Step (10). (10) Install gasket (50), access cover (49) and two screws (48) on converter housing (51). Tighten screws to 26 to 32 lb-ft (35 to 43 N.m). (11) With the aid of an assistant, position right cradle (38) on transmission (21) with four lockwashers (37) and screws (36) . (12) Position two lockwashers (35) and screws (34) in right cradle (38). (13) Position six lockwashers (33) and screws (32) in right cradle (38). (14) Tighten two screws (34) and six screws (32) in right cradle (38) to 123 to 144 lb-ft (167 to 195 N.m). (15) Tighten four screws (36) in right cradle (38) to 213 to 244 lb-ft (289 to 331 N.m). (16) With the aid of an assistant, position left cradle (31) on transmission (21) with four lockwashers (37) and screws (36). (17) Position two lockwashers (35) and screws (34) in left cradle (31). (18) Position six lockwashers (33) and screws (32) in left cradle (31). (19) Tighten two screws (34) and six screws (32) in left cradle (31) to 123 to 144 lb-ft (167 to 195 N.m). (20) Tighten four screws (36) in left cradle (31) to 213 to 244 lb-ft (289 to 331 N.m).
