3-26. ENGINE OIL PUMP REPAIR (CONT).

Removal.
(1)
Position drain pan under oil pump (1).
(2)
Remove two screws (2) and lockwashers (3) from oil tube brackets (4) on main bearing cap (5). Discard
lockwashers.
(3)
With the aid of an assistant, remove four nuts (6) and lockwashers (7) from main bearing cap studs (8)
and support oil pump (1). Discard lockwashers.
NOTE
A small amount of oil will be in the oil pump when removed.
(4)
With the aid of an assistant, remove oil pump (1) from main bearing cap studs (8).
NOTE
Shims are mounted between the oil pump mounting feet and main bearing cap. Tag and
mark shims after removal.
(5)
Remove shims (9) from oil pump (1).
