8-3. TRANSFER CASE ASSEMBLY SUPPORT REPLACEMENT (CONT).

Position two upper mounts (10) on
two frame brackets (11).
(d)
Position support bracket (7) on two
upper mounts (10) and transfer
case (1).
Adhesives, solvents, and sealing
compounds can burn easily, can
give off harmful vapors, and are
harmful to skin and clothing. To
avoid injury or death, keep away
from open fire and use in well-
ventilated area. If adhesive,
solvent, or sealing compound
gets on skin or clothing, wash
immediately with soap and
water.
(e)
Apply sealing compound to threads of
six screws (8).
(f)
Position six washers (9) and screws (8)
in support bracket (7) and front and
rear of transfer case (1).
(g)
Tighten three screws (8) in support
bracket (7) and front of transfer
case (1) to 187 lb-ft (254 N.m).
(h)
Tighten three screws (8) in support
bracket (7) and rear of transfer case (1)
to 187 lb-ft (254 N.m).
(i)
Lower transfer case (1) to position
support bracket (7) on two upper
mounts (10).
