NOTE
Ensure that lip of seal is facing
inside of bearing cap.

Coat inner lip of oil seal (1) with grease.

Using seal installer, install oil seal (1) in
bearing cap (2).
Adhesives, solvents, and sealing
compounds can burn easily, can
give off harmful vapors, and are
harmful to skin and clothing. To
avoid injury or death, keep away
from open fire and use in a well-
ventilated area. If adhesive,
solvent, or sealing compound
gets on skin or clothing, wash
immediately with soap and
water.
NOTE
Perform Step (10) if plug and
adapter were removed.

Apply sealing compound to pipe plug (10)
and adapter (9).
(11)
Install pipe plug (10) and adapter (9) in
bearing cap (2).

Follow-On Maintenance:
Install rear shaft in transfer case, (Para 24-8).
