TM 9-2320-364-20-2 2-870      7.  CODE 23:  SHIFT SELECTOR. INITIAL SETUP 1. Repair wire 210A (see schematic Fig 2-22) or notify DS Maintenance.   Verify repair, go to Step 7 of this Fault. START YES NO “CHECK TRANS” light ON. Restricted gear shifts. Torque converter lockup clutch   unlocked. Transmission does not shift   properly or stays in N   (Neutral). Shift selector wire 210A faulty. Open ground wire to electrical   control box. Short/open in ATEC ECU wire   harness. Short/open in control box wire   harness. Shift selector faulty. Transmission ECU faulty. KNOWN INFO POSSIBLE PROBLEMS TEST OPTIONS REASON FOR QUESTION Continuity test. STE/ICE-R #91. If ground is not present to shift selector keypad through wire 210A from ECU, ATEC will register a code 23 fault. 2-15.  ATEC TROUBLESHOOTING (CONT).
