TM 9-2320-364-20-4 8-6      8-3.  TRANSMISSION OIL SERVICE (CONT). NOTE Transmission dipstick is removed by rotating handle counterclockwise and pulling out. (2) Remove transmission dipstick (6) from dipstick tube (7). Check both sides of dipstick. Reading may be inaccurate on one side of dipstick, as a result of oil lying in dipstick tube. NOTE Frequently check transmission and stop filling when oil is in COLD RUN range. (3) Fill transmission at dipstick tube (7).  Stop filling when oil is in COLD RUN range on dipstick (6). (4) Install dipstick (6) in dipstick tube (7). (5) Start engine, run at 1,000 RPM for one minute and return engine to idle. Ensure there are no personnel in front of truck when placing it into drive.  Failure to do so may result in injury or death to personnel. (6) Apply brake pedal, set transmission range selector to Drive (D) and run engine at 1,000 rpm until transmission temperature reaches 160 to 180 degrees F (71 to 82 degrees C). (7) Return engine to idle, set transmission range selector to Neutral (N) and release brake pedal. c. Follow-On  Maintenance: Check transmission oil level, (TM 9-2320-364-10). Shut off engine, (TM 9-2320-364-10). Remove wheel chocks, (TM 9-2320-364-10). END OF TASK
