(1) Remove dust cover from DCA
connector MC39.
(2) Connect DCA cable W1 to the
vehicle test meter (VTM) and DCA
connector MC39.
(3) Power-up STE/ICE-R VTM in the
DCA mode (TM 9-4910-571-12&P).
(4) Enter the vehicle identification (VID)
number (38).
(5) Perform confidence test.
(6) Set STE/ICE-R TEST SELECT
switches to #73.
(7) Perform offset test.
(8) Press and release TEST button.
(9) When GO is displayed on the
VTM, push down and hold
engine stop switch and turn
ENGINE switch to START until
OFF is displayed on the VTM
(TM 9-2320-364-10).
(10) Turn OFF ENGINE switch, release
engine stop switch and wait
about five seconds.
(a)
If more than 13 miliohms are
displayed, perform
STE/ICE-R test 73 on
each truck battery.
(b)
If 13 miliohms or less are
displayed, go to Step (11).
(11) Set STE/ICE-R TEST SELECT
switches to 75.
(12) Perform offset test
(13) Press and release TEST button.
(14) When GO is displayed on the
VTM, push down and hold
engine stop switch and turn
ENGINE switch to START until
OFF is displayed on the VTM
(TM 9-2320-364-10).
(15) Turn OFF ENGINE switch, release
engine stop switch and wait
about five seconds.
(a)
If more than 25 miliohms/sec
are not displayed, perform
STE/ICE-R test 75 on each
truck battery.
(b)
If 25 miliohms or less/sec.
are displayed, batteries are OK.
(16) Disconnect DCA connector.
(17) Install dust cover on STE/ICE-R
connector MC39.
STE/ICE-R #73 AND #75
Remove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags, bracelets, etc. If jewelry or tools contact positive electrical
circuits, a direct short may result. Damage to equipment, injury or death to personnel may occur.
