KNOWN INFO POSSIBLE PROBLEMS TEST OPTIONS REASON FOR QUESTION Visual inspection. Exhaust smoke may be white if fuel is contaminated or the wrong type. YES NO Service or replace fuel/water separator (Para 4-15 or 4-17), replace secondary fuel filter (Para 4-13) and drain tank. Verify repair, go to Step 3 of this Fault. 2. Is fuel in fuel tank the proper type, and is it free from contamination? Fault not corrected. Notify DS Maintenance. WARNING Coolant OK. Fuel not contaminated. KNOWN INFO POSSIBLE PROBLEMS TEST OPTIONS REASON FOR QUESTION Verify repair. If engine does not exhaust white smoke, fault has been corrected. YES NO Fault corrected. 3. Does engine exhaust white smoke at normal operating temperature 180F to 230F (82C to 110C)? Fault not corrected. Notify DS Maintenance. Read   WARNING on Page 2-997
