(1) Remove nut, lockwasher and wires
1275, 1435, 1815, and jumperwire
from alternator negative (–) terminal.
Discard lockwasher.
(2) Set multimeter select switch to ohms.
(3) Is there continuity measured on wire
1275 and a known good ground?
(a) If there is no continuity, repair wire
1275 (see schematic Fig 2-39) or
notify DS Maintenance.
(b) If there is continuity, wire 1275 is
OK.
(4) Install wires 1275, 1815, 1435, and
jumperwire on alternator negative (–)
terminal with lockwasher and nut.
CONTINUITY TEST
Remove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags, bracelets, etc. If jewelry or tools contact positive electrical
circuits, a direct short may result. Damage to equipment, injury or death to personnel may occur.
NOTE
Tag and mark wires before removal.
