TM 9-2320-364-20-2 2-1610 50.  12 AND 24 VOLT SYSTEMS NOT CHARGING OR UNDER CHARGING (145 AMP) (CONT). Both voltmeters indicate low   charge. Batteries OK. Fuel pump operates indicating   24 vdc present at DUVAC   controller IGN terminal. Alternator belts OK. DUVAC controller OK. Wire 1278 OK. At least 5 vdc are supplied to   alternator field coil indicating   regulator and related wiring OK. Jumperwire from alternator field   coil negative (–) terminal to   alternator negative (–)   terminal faulty. Alternator faulty. KNOWN INFO POSSIBLE PROBLEMS TEST OPTIONS REASON FOR QUESTION Continuity test. STE/ICE-R #91. If alternator field coil is not grounded through jumperwire, alternator will not charge. YES NO Repair jumperwire (see schematic Fig 2-39).  Verify repair, go to Step 14 of this Fault. 6. Is continuity measured between jumperwire and a known good ground? Replace alternator, (Para 7-2).  Verify repair, go to Step 14 of this Fault. WARNING Read   WARNING on Page 2-1611
