21-29. CONTAINER HANDLING UNIT (CHU) SLIDER/PIVOT ASSEMBLY

Removal.
NOTE
Left side and right side
slider/pivot assembly are
identical unless noted.
Right side slider/pivot
assembly is shown.
Slider weighs 142 lbs (64 kg).
Attach suitable lifting device to
prevent possible injury to
personnel.
(1)
Attach lifting device to slider assembly (1).
Use care when removing snap
and retaining rings. Snap and
retaining rings are under spring
tension and can act as projectiles
when released and could cause
severe eye injury.
(2)
Remove retaining ring (2) and spacer (3)
from pivot pin (4) and slider assembly (1).
Discard retaining ring.
(3)
With the aid of an assistant, remove slider
assembly (1) from arm assembly (5).
(4)
Position slider assembly (1) on clean work
surface and remove lifting device.
