8-2. TRANSFER CASE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT (CONT).
Adhesives, solvents, and sealing compounds can burn easily, can give off harmful vapors, and
are harmful to skin and clothing. To avoid injury or death, keep away from open fire and use
in a well-ventilated area. If adhesive, solvent, or sealing compound gets on skin or clothing,
wash immediately with soap and water.

Coat threads of nine screws (33) and three screws (34) with sealing compound.
NOTE
Perform Step (4) if mounts were removed.

With the aid of an assistant, position mounts (23) and (30) in brackets (25) and (32).
(5)
With the aid of an assistant, position support assemblies (24) and (31) to transfer case (17) with nine
screws (33) and three screws (34).
(6)
While assistant holds two screws (26),
position right support assembly (31) to
bracket (32) with two mounts (30),
plate (29) four washers (28) and two
locknuts (27).
