Cleaning/Inspection.
Drycleaning Solvent (P-D-680) is TOXIC and flammable. Wear protective goggles, face
shield and gloves and use only in a well-ventilated area; avoid contact with skin, eyes, and
clothes and do not breathe vapors. Keep away from heat or flame. Never smoke when
using solvent; the flashpoint for Type I Drycleaning Solvent is 100 degrees F (38 degrees
C) and for Type II Drycleaning Solvent is 140 degrees F (60 degrees C). Failure to do so
may result in injury or death to personnel.
If personnel become dizzy while using cleaning solvent, immediately get fresh air and
medical help. If solvent contacts skin or clothes, flush with cold water. If solvent contacts
eyes, immediately flush eyes with water and get immediate medical attention.
Compressed air used for cleaning purposes will not exceed 30 psi (207 kPa). Use only with
effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment (goggles/shield, gloves, etc).
Failure to comply may result in injury to personnel.

Clean all metal parts in drycleaning solvent.
(2)
Dry all parts with compressed air. Allow bearings to air dry.
(3)
Inspect each part for nicks, burrs, scratches or dents.
(4)
Inspect bearing for grooves, pits or cracks.
(5)
Replace damaged parts.

Assembly.
(1)
Apply hydraulic oil to seal (23) and install on plate (18).
(2)
Apply hydraulic oil to retaining washer (22), seal (21) and preformed packing (20) and install on
plate (18).
Adhesives, solvents, and sealing compounds can burn easily, can give off harmful vapors, and
are harmful to skin and clothing. To avoid injury or death, keep away from open fire and use
in well-ventilated area. If adhesive, solvent, or sealing compound gets on skin or clothing,
wash immediately with soap and water.

Apply sealing compound to threads of four
screws (17).
NOTE
Ensure inner ring bearing seats
in flange.
(4)
Install inner ring bearing (19) and plate (18)
on motor (1) with four screws (17). Tighten
screws 132 lb-in (15 N.m).
