GENERAL
NOTE
These lubrication instructions to be performed on BAP are MANDATORY.
This work package contains lubrication instructions for Bridge Adapter Pallet (BAP).
BAP must receive lubrication with approved lubricants at recommended intervals in order to be mission ready at all
times.
INTERVALS
Intervals (on-condition or hard-time) and related man-hours are based on normal operation. Man-hour time specified
is time needed to do all services prescribed for a particular interval.
Hard Time. BAP is not enrolled in Army Oil Analysis Program (AOAP). HARD-TIME INTERVALS APPLY.
Hard-time maintenance is scheduled maintenance conducted at predetermined fixed intervals based on
age, calendar, or usage (e.g., operating time). Change hard-time interval if your lubricants are contaminated
or if you are operating under adverse environmental conditions. Intervals may be extended during periods
of low activity providing adequate preservation precautions have been taken.
On Condition. On-condition maintenance is scheduled maintenance performed based on condition of BAP
as determined by regularly scheduled intervals.
SPECIFIC LUBRICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Keep all lubricants in a closed container and store in a clean, dry place away from extreme heat. Keep
container covers clean and do not allow dust, dirt, or other foreign material to mix with lubricants. Keep all
lubrication equipment clean and ready for use.
Maintain a record of lubrication performed and report any problems noted during lubrication. Refer to DA
Pam 750-8 (WP 0076) for maintenance forms and procedures for recording and reporting any findings.
Keep all external parts not requiring lubrication free of lubricants. After lubrication, wipe off excess oil or
grease to prevent accumulation of foreign matter.
After parts are cleaned, rinse and dry them thoroughly. Apply a light grade of oil to all polished metal surfaces
to prevent rusting.
When authorized to install new parts, remove any preservative materials, such as rust-preventive compound
or protective grease, prior to installation. Apply lubricant prescribed in lubrication instructions if required.
Clean and lubricate bearings as specified in FM 9-207 for lubrication instructions in cold weather.
