Transmission weighs 1,050 lbs (477 kg). Attach suitable lifting device prior to removal to
prevent possible injury to personnel.
NOTE
Use two screws and lockwashers removed in Step (16).

Install lifting device on transmission (21) with two screws (32) and lockwashers (33).

Remove plug (39) from right side of engine (25).
Ensure nut on crankshaft is turned in clockwise direction only. Turning nut on crankshaft in
counterclockwise direction may cause damage to equipment.
NOTE
Access for removal of 12 screws is through plug hole of plug removed in Step (21).

With the aid of an assistant, turn nut (40) on crankshaft (41) to access and remove 12 screws (42) from
flexplate housing (43).
