Adhesives, solvents, and sealing compounds can burn easily, can give off harmful vapors, and
are harmful to skin and clothing. To avoid injury or death, keep away from open fire and use
in well-ventilated area. If adhesive, solvent, or sealing compound gets on skin or clothing,
wash immediately with soap and water.

Coat thread of screw (68) with sealing
compound.

Install shift lever (72) in shift housing (56)
with preformed packing (71), shaft (70),
washer (69) and screw (68).
NOTE
When properly installed, cams
will be positioned in grooves on
shift lever.

Install two cams (74) on shift lever (71).
(14)
Coat cams (74) lightly with grease.
(15)
Coat splines of armature shaft (31) with light film of lubricating oil.
(16)
Install armature (75) in field ring (15).
(17)
Install thrust washer (76) on armature shaft (31).
