Install thrust washer (62) on drive
assembly (63).

Install six rubber plugs (59) in nose
housing (55).

Soak wick (61) in lubricating oil.

Install wick (61) and plug (60) in nose
housing (55).
Adhesives, solvents, and sealing
compounds can burn easily, can
give off harmful vapors, and are
harmful to skin and clothing. To
avoid injury or death, keep away
from open fire and use in well-
ventilated area. If adhesive,
solvent, or sealing compound
gets on skin or clothing, wash
immediately with soap and
water.

Coat threads of six screws (57) with sealing
compound.

Align matchmarks and install preformed
packing (58) and nose housing (55) on shift
housing (56) with six screws (57).
NOTE
Perform Step (31) if bushing
was removed.
Hole in bushing must be
aligned with wick bore in
commutator end housing.

Install bushing (54) in commutator end
housing (25).

Soak wick (53) in lubricating oil.
