7-4. TRANSMISSION INTERNAL OIL FILTER ELEMENT REPLACEMENT.
a.
Removal.
NOTE
Model B replaces Model A.
For transmission serial numbers
under 2510187495, perform Step
(1)
Remove screw (1), washer (2), filter
element (3), spacer (4) and preformed packing
(5) from transmission (6). Discard filter
element and preformed packing.
(2)
Inspect spacer (4) at flange. Discard Model
A spacers.
b.
Installation.
(1)
Apply hydraulic oil to preformed
packing (5).
(2)
Install preformed packing (5) on filter
element (3).
NOTE
Do not twist filter element
during installation. Ensure filter
element fits snug to transmission.
(3)
Position washer (2) and screw (1) through
filter element (3) and spacer (4).
(4)
Install filter element (3) on transmission
(6). Tighten screw (1) to 204 to 240 lb-in
(23 to 27 N.m).
c.
Follow-On Maintenance:
Install transmission oil pan, (Para 7-3).
Remove wheel chocks, (TM 9-2320-364-10).
