CAUTION
Do not position PTO ENGAGE switch to ON with HIGH IDLE switch ON. Engaging the
PTO with HIGH IDLE switch ON may result in sudden application of hydraulic pressure
to the LHS. Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment.
PTO ENGAGE switch must be positioned OFF before road transport. Failure to comply
may result in damage to equipment.
12.
Set PTO ENGAGE switch (Figure 6, Item 14) to ON position. Indicator light (Figure 6, Item 15) will illuminate.
13.
Set HIGH IDLE switch (Figure 6, Item 16) to ON position.
14.
Move joystick (Figure 6, Item 17) to UNLOAD and hold to automatically raise and move hook arm and main
frame toward the BAP.
15.
Release joystick (Figure 6, Item 17) when tip of LHS hook (Figure 6, Item 18) is just below level of BAP bail
bar (Figure 6, Item 19).
16.
Set HIGH IDLE switch (Figure 6, Item 16) to OFF position.
CAUTION
An assistant should be used to act as a ground guide when backing up vehicle. Failure to
comply may result in damage to equipment.
17.
Set transmission range selector (Figure 6, Item 12) to R (reverse).
NOTE
Dashboard parking brake indicator will go out when PARKING BRAKE control is released.
18.
Push in PARKING BRAKE control (Figure 6, Item 10) and release service brake pedal (Figure 6, Item 11).
19.
Back up vehicle while steering as necessary to align tip of LHS hook (Figure 6, Item 18) under BAP bail bar
(Figure 6, Item 19), stop vehicle.
NOTE
Ensure tip of LHS hook is slightly below and in line with middle of BAP bail bar.
20.
Set transmission range selector (Figure 6, Item 12) to N (neutral), and apply service brake pedal (Figure 6,
Item 11).
NOTE
If LHS hook and BAP bail bar are not properly engaged, move vehicle away from the BAP
and repeat Steps (18 through 20).
21.
Move joystick (Figure 6, Item 17) to LOAD until LHS hook (Figure 6, Item 18) engages BAP bail bar (Figure 6,
Item 19).
22.
Install bail bar lock (Figure 6, Item 20) on LHS hook (Figure 6, Item 18) with pin (Figure 6, Item 21) and lock
pin (Figure 6, Item 22).
23.
Release service brake pedal (Figure 6, Item 11).
24.
To ensure that BAP runners engage LHS rear rollers, steer vehicle straight under the BAP as the BAP rises.
25.
Set HIGH IDLE switch (Figure 6, Item 16) to ON position.
26.
Move joystick (Figure 6, Item 17) to LOAD.
