Set transmission range selector (Figure 12, Item 20) to D (drive) and move forward slowly, making sure LHS
lift hook (Figure 12, Item 34) clears BAP bail bar (Figure 12, Item 35).
NOTE
Dashboard parking brake indicator will go out when PARKING BRAKE control is released.
34.
Push in PARKING BRAKE control (Figure 12, Item 19).
35.
Move vehicle forward approximately 5 ft. (1.5 m).
36.
Pull out PARKING BRAKE control (Figure 12, Item 19).
37.
Set transmission range selector (Figure 12, Item 20) to N (neutral).
NOTE
LHS hook arm does not need to be fully stowed if more transfer operations are going to be
done.
38.
Turn LHS MODE SELECT switch (Figure 12, Item 21) to AUTO.
39.
Set HIGH IDLE switch (Figure 12, Item 28) to ON position.
WARNING
When NO TRANSIT indicator is illuminated, vehicle may be maneuvered in the immediate
vicinity of the loading/unloading site. However, vehicle is unsafe for road travel. Do not
perform open-road driving when NO TRANSIT indicator is illuminated. Failure to comply may
result in serious injury or death to personnel and damage to equipment.
40.
Move joystick (Figure 12, Item 24) to LOAD and hold in position until NO TRANSIT indicator (Figure 12, Item
36) light goes out.
41.
Set HIGH IDLE switch (Figure 12, Item 28) to OFF position.
42.
Position PTO ENGAGE switch (Figure 12, Item 22) to OFF position. Indicator light (Figure 12, Item 23) will go
out.
CAUTION
While maneuvering vehicle in the immediate vicinity of the loading or unloading site, LHS
MODE SELECT switch may be in any setting. However, LHS MODE SELECT switch must
be set to OFF/TRANSPORT prior to road travel. Failure to comply may result in damage to
equipment.
43.
Turn LHS MODE SELECT switch (Figure 12, Item 21) to OFF.
