Install bail bar lock (Figure 9, Item 23) on LHS hook (Figure 9, Item 19) with pin (Figure 9, Item 24) and lockpin
(Figure 9, Item 25).

Move joystick (Figure 9, Item 18) to LOAD, stop when LHS lift hook (Figure 9, Item 19) raises the BAP.
25.
Set HIGH IDLE switch (Figure 9, Item 17) to ON position.
WARNING
When NO TRANSIT indicator is illuminated, vehicle may be maneuvered in the immediate
vicinity of the loading/unloading site. However, vehicle is unsafe for road travel. Do not
perform open-road driving when NO TRANSIT indicator is illuminated. Failure to comply may
result in serious injury or death to personnel and damage to equipment.

Move joystick (Figure 9, Item 18) to LOAD and stop when NO TRANSIT indicator (Figure 9, Item 26) goes out.

Set HIGH IDLE switch (Figure 9, Item 17) to OFF.
28.
Push in PARKING BRAKE control (Figure 9, Item 1), or release service brake pedal (Figure 9, Item 2).
29.
Set transmission range selector (Figure 9, Item 3) to D (drive), and move vehicle 10 ft. (3 m) from trailer.
30.
Pull out PARKING BRAKE control (Figure 9, Item 1), or apply service brake pedal (Figure 9, Item 2).
NOTE
If BAP hold-down locks do not engage, raise the BAP slightly and lower again. The BAP
should seat completely and engage BAP hold-down locks.
31.
Set PTO ENGAGE switch (Figure 9, Item 15) to OFF position. Indicator light (Figure 9, Item 16) will go out.
CAUTION
While maneuvering vehicle in the immediate vicinity of the loading or unloading site, LHS
MODE SELECT switch may be in any setting. However, LHS MODE SELECT switch must
be set to OFF/TRANSPORT prior to road travel. Failure to comply may result in damage to
equipment.
32.
Turn LHS MODE SELECT switch (Figure 9, Item 14) to OFF.
