CAUTION
Brake springs are under pressure inside motor housing. Remove motor adapter screws one
turn at a time, until spring pressure has been released. Failure to comply may result in damage
to equipment.
NOTE
Match-mark motor adapter and its location on the winch so motor adapter can be installed at
the same angle as when removed.
2.
Remove four screws (Figure 1, Item 3), lockwashers (Figure 1, Item 4), and motor adapter (Figure 1, Item 2)
from brake housing (Figure 1, Item 5). Discard lockwashers.
3.
Remove O-ring (Figure 1, Item 6) from motor adapter (Figure 1, Item 2). Discard O-ring.
4.
Remove six springs (Figure 1, Item 7) from piston (Figure 1, Item 8).
5.
Remove piston (Figure 1, Item 8) from brake housing (Figure 1, Item 5).
6.
Remove two O-rings (Figure 1, Items 9 and 10) from piston (Figure 1, Item 8). Discard O-rings.
7.
Remove brake hub subassembly (Figure 1, Item 11) from brake housing (Figure 1, Item 5).
